Hi and welcome! My name is Susanne. I am a published childrens’ author, a farmer, wife, mom of 2 and am in recovery. I’m also a certified beekeeper, Master Gardener, shepherdess and chicken lover. But my most important and cherished title is that I’m a Christian who loves the Lord.
Through the grace and love of God, I’m finally sober and clear-eyed. I wanted to keep my recovery a secret from the world but God had other plans for me. He laid this ministry on my heart and wouldn’t let me say no. I argued and ignored Him but He is a persistent Father. He’s gotten me this far and I finally gave in and obeyed. So here we are.
I want Christian Recovery Community to be a place where we can find encouragement through each other’s stories and experience the grace and compassion of Jesus through fellowship with each other. Walking this road of recovery is hard and can be very lonely. I know I felt that at the beginning. Being surrounded by people who have been there and understand and will love and support you through the difficult times can make all the difference in the early days and beyond.
I’d love for you to share your story with your fellow Christians. There is freedom from addiction and a joyous life waiting for each of us. There is healing and thriving. Give hope and encouragement to others through your words. Your story may be the one that leads a lost sheep to their Day One.
We don’t need to be ashamed or filled with embarrassment. Addiction was not our choice. Sharing your story and hearing the stories of others breaks those suffocating chains of addiction one link at a time. Don’t live in darkness and fear. Rejoice for every day you celebrate clean and sober.
If you are still contemplating a life in recovery, do it! Don’t wait. Life is so much better without the frantic desperation of living in active addiction. I wasted so much time talking myself out of sobriety. If you think you can’t live without, I promise you that you can. You will! And you will be so blessed and grateful that you did.
Welcome, my friends. I’m so thankful that you’re here.
